Seven bucks for a drink
Monday, January 22nd, 2007Mel posed a question to our friend, the MBA, while we were out for drinks: what’s the deal with the stock market? And stockholders? And shares? And ROI? Mel and I both detest corporate money-making. I have only a vague understanding of how it all works. (I did recommend that Mel watch The Corporation.)
MBA explained it all, in terms we could understand, and then the argument ensued: is capitalism good or bad?
Mel: Bad!
MBA: Good!
Two Knives: Another vodka please.
I’ve been moderately-to-extremely discontented with most aspects of the world recently (for the past couple years, actually, so it’s not just that I’m getting my period.) My discontent has me searching for answers; the answers make me more discontent.
Today I found this, via Eyeteeth:

I love this: easy to understand, visual, explains my contempt for capitalism, war and politics, and my more recent distrust of organized religion.
How come it took so long to discover that I’m a socialist? And what do I do with my stocks?
